A Grade 2 railway sleeper is also a used sleeper with all the same characteristics of the Grade 1 above but can have slight damage to one side and perhaps a small amount of rot to the underside where it lay on the ground under the tracks and a higher degree of defects and splitting, but still retaining consistent quality, size and shape and will be creosote treated.

Using creosote-treated railway sleepers

Reclaimed creosote-treated railway sleepers should no longer be used in high use areas, children’s play areas or any area where frequent skin contact will occur. Protective gloves should always be worn when handling creosote treated railway sleepers. They should be utilised in accordance with EU creosote legislation 2001/90/EC

Delivery

We offer a comprehensive delivery service throughout Yorkshire and the North East.

We will deliver your sleepers within seven days (usually sooner). We will contact you the day before by phone or text with a delivery time.

All deliveries are made by our own drivers using a transit flatbed dropside van, which has a small crane mounted on the rear of the vehicle. For larger orders a trailer is towed behind the transit van.

Delivery is charged at £1.80 per mile from our depot.

Minimum delivery order of six sleepers, you can collect any number from our yard.
