What is Kindling?

Kindling is small, dry, and easily combustible pieces of wood that are used to start a fire. It serves as the initial fuel source to ignite larger logs or fuelwood.

Step 1.

Why Should I Use Kindling?

No matter how well you dry them, large pieces of wood matter such as firewood are incredibly difficult to light. A match, gas lighter, or a fire starter simply cannot provide enough energy to start the chemical reaction we commonly call burning. In contrast, kindling is smaller and much easier to light. At the same time, it contains enough energy to light any log once it is burning.

How is kindling manufactured

We source larch wood to produce our kindling, the wood is cut into segments that are 15cm long, the wood is dried to 10% or below in our kilns. the segments are then split into sticks and bagged in to nets on our kindling machine.
